Seeing through your spouses eyes

Image
Uncle Sam painting Joey's "Hand nails" as Joey would say So I guess you could say Sam has finally made me see through his eyes. We have been having the same..I guess you could say argument for weeks now. The baby argument. I have been practically begging Sam for weeks to please just let us have one. Just one...for now. Well Sam has rejected me on this request for weeks. I even told him that he could tell Santa that's what I wanted for Christmas. He still didn't give in. So I came to the realization yesterday that we'd better wait. Sam and I babysat the Coffey kids yesterday and I had a lot of fun..and I think Sam did as well...it was one of my favorite memories of Sam when he painted Joey's nails, and rocked one of the babies to sleep. It made me extremely excited to have kids of our own and see Sam in daddy action. But what I realized is that Sam is right. He and I have so much fun together, and we need that time because once we have kids, it will

Lagoon!

Image
Photo taken By Sam on his iPhone4. We did it! We went to Lagoon. this is a big accomplishment for me since I have been pretty much terrified of the place for, oh, ten years. Sam's parents decided that for Christmas gifts this year that we would take a family trip to Lagoon. I was super nervous at first, but once we got there I realized it wasn't so bad, and I wasn't as scared as I thought I would be. Sam and I had a great time with the family and even bounced back with my family. I think it's the beginning of us going to Lagoon every year. Very fun! Even though I am still a wimp and Sam may have to wait a long time for me to go on some of these rides, but I think overall he will be happy with what he can get out of me.

Cherry Pie, Baby!

Image
I have many goals in life. One of them is to bake a perfect pie. Well I did it! the past few days I have been working on making this pie that I have been dreaming about for weeks. I broke up the pie making into two days so that I made sure it would be perfect and not rushed. Day one I made the crust and  pitted all of my cherries. Day two I did all the hard stuff. The actual assembly of the pie and the baking. Which by the way had to bake for almost 2 hours. I was slightly worried once the pie was in the oven just because I have had a few mishaps while baking. I was just praying that this wasn't going to be one of them. When the time came I got the pie out of the oven and it was fantastic. We all were able to enjoy some wonderful million calorie pie!  The pie filling! MMHMM! Sweet Perfection!

The big burn

I truly wish I had a picture for this one. Sam and I have been meaning to go swimming all summer long, and it didn't happen until this past Wednesday. We had one, well maybe two goals when we went to the pool. One, to get a sweet tan, and Two, to have fun with each other. We decided to go with the tanning oil instead of the sunscreen which we thought would make our tans even better! Well we get home and it's pretty obvious we have been in the sun all day. My tan is pretty good, and Sam, well he's about the same color he was when we got to the pool that morning. It wasn't until the next day that we realized how serious Sam had been burnt. It looked like he was just fried. Totally red and burnt. I felt really bad since I didn't get a burn but I tried to make Sam as comfortable as I could. I thought the burn would gradually get better, but the truth is, it has only gotten worse. There has been no sleep and lots of pain...so I have decided to compile a short list to help

Oh Snap!!

For the past few weeks Sam has started scaring me when I come out of the bathroom. He will literally wait until the toilet flushes and then comes and quietly stands outside the bathroom door. Naturally, I don't anticipate someone to be standing there and it's quite frightening! This has happened a few times and Sam tends to think he is the funniest thing ever when he is able to freak me out. So I have totally forgiven him for doing this, because it's just fun. So the greatest thing happened on Sam's day off. We were just hangin out, watchin LOST, and Sam got up to use the bathroom. After a minute, I thought, What a perfect opportunity for me to scare Sam with his own joke! So I heard the toilet flush and I quietly, trying not to totally giggle, wait outside the door. Sam opens it, and I am pretty sure he was more scared than I have ever been when he has done it to me. It was the funniest thing! It brought me great joy, and I will never forget how awesome it was to watch

The end.

Well...many of you who know me, know that I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan! We got tickets to go see the movie yesterday before the midnight showing. I have been so extremely excited about this movie that it's not even funny. It's the final chapter, the epic conclusion of the whole Harry Potter story. I think seeing this movie with Sam let him see my true nerdiness about the whole thing. I just couldn't stop being excited the entire movie, which was excellent. When we got home I was still so excited that it took me, what seemed like ages to fall asleep. Me falling asleep was still not good enough..I had Harry Potter dreams all night, and woke up ready to see the movie again! The good news, I think Sam liked it too, and he was able to accept my inner dork. Sam and I in our super sweet matching Harry Potter shirts!

Google TV

Image
Well after the long wait since October, we finally got a Google TV. Since we have been so into the TV show Lost, we decided we needed to get a second TV. Let me back up, we have two TV's, only one of them is super small. So Sam decides that he is going to start looking and sets a price range, and all the requirements of this new TV and happens to find a Google TV that fits all of those requirements. It's almost as if he already knew about this TV, which is totally perfect. We have had it since the beginning of the week and I am still deciding how sold I am on the whole thing. Hopefully Sam can show me something that impresses me about it! hahahahaha!

A first time for everything

I feel like I should change my blog name to The Adventures of Mr. Coffey since most of these stories seem to be about Sam. But as an innocent bystander, I feel like the adventures of Mr. Coffey are also my own. Yesterday we had the privilege of babysitting our niece and two nephews(twins). It was super fun, and Sam got to have some very new experiences that may or may not have convinced him we don't need kids right now.  Since we babysat twins, I decided I would feed and do diaper duty for one and he could do the other...So I did my share, and when it was Sam's turn the baby wouldn't open his mouth for Sam to feed him. It was a little funny just because it was his first time dealing with babies and this little guy must have known. Sam looks at me for help, so I helped and things went just fine after that. Next, diaper duty. Sam has NEVER changed a diaper in his life. I thought it was pretty crazy. We had a little diaper lesson, and Sam did a great job, however, I do wonder

Limited Edition!

Image
Sam is super funny. About 4 months before we got married Sam decided to kick his Mountain Dew habit/addiction..whatever you would like to call it. This was really exciting. If there was one thing you knew about Sam, it was that he drank Mountain Dew, and now he wanted to stop drinking it. Well, he did it! He completely stopped drinking Mountain Dew. Just before we were married Sam asked if we could get some Mountain Dew while on our honeymoon as a special treat so we did. The thing about it was, is that we discovered the limited edition Dew that is out right now! We have been buying the limited edition ever since. The thing with limited edition is that it can be pretty hard to find. So basically every time we go to the store we end up searching the soda section for the stuff. It's totally my new favorite thing to do! I love seeing the smile on Sam's face when I am able to find it, and bring it home! This is the totally hilarious picture of Sam searching for the Li

The Best Day Ever!!

As many of you are aware I have been super excited about marrying Sam. Not only because I love him, but because he is such a sweetie and he loves me too. On May 18 we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Just remembering the events of the day makes me super giddy. I will never forget the way Sam looked at me that day, and everything he said to me. It was truly perfect. It was more than I ever expected, and Sam was sweeter than I ever thought he could be. The best part..the sweetness continues! Our wedding day was definitely not a perfect day if you look at the weather or any other small issues, but it was perfect to us, and we are so happy to finally be married to each other for time and for eternity!

The Dress!

Image
I think we can all agree that the most exciting part of the wedding is the person you will be marrying. I think we can also agree that next is the dress! I wanted to post a few of my bridals so that everyone could have a little teaser before the wedding! So here they are! I also want to thank Sam's brother Josh, and his wife Mandy for taking all the pictures, they are so wonderful!

The things I do for love or Sam's Birthday!

May 3rd. Sam's birthday. Yesterday was a day that I knew I was going to have to do something that I may not have wanted to do. I told Sam to think of whatever he wanted to do, and we would totally do it. I was thinking we would do something outside or something. I was wrong. Sam wanted to go to the movies. He wanted to see Fast Five. On any other day, I would have been fine seeing this movie. We have been watching the other ones together and it has been a fun time doing something that I know Sam enjoys. But yesterday..it just wasn't something I really felt in the mood for. Well I couldn't say no, get serious, it's his birthday, so I said as happily as I could, Yeah Let's do it! We did, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and we had a great day together. Sam told me later in the day that he would never make me see another boy movie like that ever again, but I told him that I would happily watch any boy movie, because let's face it, I'm g

The first sign of Summertime!

This weekend Sam and I had the amazing privilege of witnessing the first signs of summer..we went to The Drive In! This to me is the first sign of summer this year. When the drive in opens it's a very exciting time because then you know that it is warm enough to watch a movie in your car, or outside sitting in lawn chairs or a gigantic Love Sac. So I am here to tell ya that it is now warm enough at night to do these things..which means, if it's getting warmer at night, it is getting warmer during the day also! I wish I could say that our first drive in experience of the summer was on a gigantic Love Sac, but it wasn't. I am sure we will have many more trips there this summer accompanied by our wonderfully huge and comfortable Love Sac! Also, just gotta point out that the wedding is closer to summer, so signs of summer mean signs that the wedding is just around the corner! Time really is moving, even if it's moving slower than a worm, it's still moving. Seeing a movi

The cute stuff..

I love little cute things! Those cute little things that happen when you least expect them. What Sam probably doesn't realize is that he does these cute things all of the time and I think it's the best thing ever. We started reading the five love languages and it's great. The funny thing about it is that I feel like Sam already speaks my love language, it's wonderful! I know that sometimes one of us or both of us is going to end up saying a couple sentances in another love language, but that's okay right? This is so exciting learning how to really care about the person you're with. Don't get me wrong, most people, including me already know how to care about someone, but I am learning so much about really caring for the other person unselfishly. I think that many times people forget that they need to consider their partner always and that as long as you are truly trying to help them it will ultimately help you, because they are happy. My hope throughout life

...and we left with a refridgerator...

Yesterday Sam and I went to visit my grandparents..it was really nice to sit and visit with them, as we don't do it often. We had a great time visiting and just talking to them about anything and everything. We started talking about what big item we would need since we are getting married. Let's face it, we need a lot of stuff...but we decided to tell them about the fridge. We really really needed it and they were so excited that we went right away to get our new toy! We got the most amazing fridge and  Sam and I can't wait for it to be delivered this Thursday! We are getting really good at cooking and I know that the fridge will only help us to cook more and better things! So at the end of our trip with grandma we left with a fridge, a very nice surprise!

The Cutest Couple In the World!!

When We First Met

About 9 Months ago I had the opportunity to be a part of my best friends wedding. What I didn't realize is that her wedding day was going to be a vital part of my life!  The day before the wedding we had a small rehearsal  with the wedding party so that we would know exactly how things were to play out the next day..not a big deal, right? Well it wasn't a big deal until I met Sam, the man I was to walk down the aisle with! I couldn't believe that I was paired with the cutest guy in the wedding party! Was this really happening? It was really happening and before our friends even got back from their honeymoon we had gone on our very first date! Up to this point I thought nothing of it, it was only one date..could anything really come from it? Well it did, one date turned into two, and two into five. Then we said "I love you." This was all getting so exciting for me and I didn't know if something SO GOOD could really be happening to me. But it did, and still is!
